Day 9: FCA return from the training camp

The players returned to the WWK ARENA at around 20:30 CET on Thursday evening. It was a very productive trip to Spain with plenty of sessions in the weights room, lots of hard work on the pitch and solid match practice in three friendlies. Enrico Maaßen’s side played twice against Bundesliga rivals Union Berlin (0-1,1-4) and once against Hungarian side Ferencváros (0-2). Most of the 34 players who travelled to Spain were able to get some valuable game time under their belts. The players were also able to enjoy some downtime in Algorfa with some opting for a round of golf and some heading for the beach in Alicante.

Demichelis to leave Bayern Munich II for River Plate?

He’d replace Marcelo Gallardo, who publicly announced his departure from the club once his contract expires in December this year. Gallardo’s eight year reign was one filled with triumph and success, so naturally, he’s left some big shoes to fill. And Demichelis, the stylish Argentinian prowling Bayern II’s sidelines, has River Plate roots of his own — 52 caps and a goal for the senior team in his playing days.
