Jurendic will be supported by Heinz Moser, whom he has worked alongside for a number of years. Moser will take up the role of head of youth development on 1st September and will oversee the link between the Paul Renz Academy and the first team. “We need to maintain a common philosophy throughout the whole project and follow it from top to bottom,” said Jurendic, who sees “a lot of potential” in FCA.
Managing director for sport Stefan Reuter is looking forward to working with Jurendic. “We wanted to expand our team in the management area and in Marinko, we have exactly the right person to give his insight on the bench and be close to the team.” Jurendic has the opportunity to get to know the players better with the team’s upcoming trip to Italy, in order to be “optimally prepared in ten days’ time” – when the new sporting director will see FCA in competitive action for the first time since joining the club when they take on third-division side SpVgg Unterhaching in the DFB-Pokal first round.
Paris Saint Germain’s coach Christophe Galtier feels that things could have gone differently if PSG had converted those chances. FCBayern.com, Bayern’s official website, captured his comments: “We didn’t manage to score with the chances we had. Bayern Munich knew it would not be easy against Paris Saint-Germain — and for most of the night it was not. The first half was a bit choppy at times and Julian Nagelsmann was not thrilled with what he had seen, but by the second half, the Bavarians took control of the game and marched away with a 2-0 victory. Here are some quick hitters on the match:

A classic summer storm prevented the planned start of the Blue-White’s pre-season out on the pitch. Anticipation ahead of the new season, which is reflected by the amount of season ticket sales so far, was also reflected by around 200 fans who had come to watch training, but the weather didn’t allow for the original plan and improvisation was needed. Instead, the players worked inside doing some gym work. “A proper training session would’ve been better in giving me a direct picture of the new players, because every second counts,” explained Pál Dárdai, who will lead the time for a sixth season. For the head coach as well as the supporters, there will be more more opportunities to watch the boys putting in the hard yards in the coming days. “People love this club and support us. If we can work well as a coaching team and everything grows together it will be worth coming again because then we will see a team built on mentality with character that gives everything for Hertha BSC. That is the first step before we can state any goals,” emphasised the head coach.
