However, on the night of 20 to 21 August 1968, the Soviet military, with the help of allies Bulgaria, Poland and Hungary, marched into Czechoslovakia to defeat Czech efforts at democracy. It was a bitter Saturday evening for SV Werder. In Márton Dárdai and Jessic Ngankam, Hertha have two players called up to the Germany U21s provisional squad for the U21s EUROs.
