Brunner fires U17 national team into quarter-finals

After going in 1-0 down at the break, the tide in this high-quality match turned in favour of DFB coach Christian Wück’s charges. Paris Brunner played a decisive role in the triumph. The Borussia U19 striker levelled the scores at 1-1 with a stunning strike in the 56th minute. Bayern’s Robert Ramsak then made it 2-1, before Paris Brunner extended the lead in the 63rd minute following an assist by Charles Herrmann.

Thorup: ”We want to take that next step”

FCA head coach Jess Thorup has been on the winning side in his first two games (5-2 vs. Heidenheim, 3-2 against Wolfsburg), however lots of work has been done on his side’s defensive play during training this week. “Köln have made more crosses than any other team in the league, so we’ll need to be alert to them,” said the 53-year-old Dane, who, as always, would like to focus on his team’s own strengths.

Who is the mole? Julian Nagelsmann “annoyed” by latest leak at Bayern Munich

SC Freiburg

A dramatic comeback to earn a point against the Foals

Merlin Röhl was denied by Gladbach keeper Moritz Nicolas in the second minute in what was a good start for SC. Christian Streich’s wish of more aggression in duels was granted and Freiburg began strongly. After seven minutes, Lucas Höler had a great chance to make it 1-0 after Philipp Lienhart’s header, but could only put the ball into the arms of Nicolas. Just a minute later though, the forward went one better to open the scoring. Röhl, who received a nice ball from Kiliann Sildillia, lifted his head up to square it across the six-yard box for Höler, leaving him the simple task of scoring into an empty net.

TSG Hoffenheim and Bitburger extend their partnership

“In my professional career, I have worked almost exclusively with the Bitburger brewery. That is also why there is great trust in the people at the helm. Bitburger’s expertise when it comes to sponsorship is already one-of-a-kind – just like its beer,” said TSG managing director Denni Strich. “We look forward to working together to come up with a number of great ideas and moments for our fans.”
