TSG Hoffenheim

DFL in favour of strategic marketing partnership

“It is important that all parties involved now have clarity. The past few weeks have been shaped by careful preparation and communication on the part of the DFL management. I would therefore like to congratulate the two people responsible, Steffen Merkel and Marc Lenz. We at TSG Hoffenheim view the result positively and see it as important to further develop the Bundesliga, especially with regard to marketing, internationalisation and media content. But the close result also shows that a sensitive approach must be adopted,” said TSG Managing Director Denni Strich of the decision.

Union to Host St. Pauli

Union vs Pauli was a classic second division clash in the 2010s. However the two clubs can now only meet in either friendlies or in the DFB Pokal, as was the case for the first time last season. “Step by step, day by day”: A special match for Mateu Morey

Mateu Morey has played in Germany and in Spain, in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. And yet he will remember the friendly against Westfalia Rhynern (7-0) on the outskirts of Dortmund longer than he will many competitive matches. Edin Terzic made eight changes at the break with the score at 3-0 and Morey came on in the second half at right-back to make his first appearance following a long lay-off. “I had a very good feeling today. It’s getting better every day. I feel very good, I’m fit. I’ve worked very hard. I wanted to look forward and keep going,” explained a happy Morey afterwards.

Chelsea star Kai Havertz tips Bayern Munich about Thomas Tuchel

In an interview with Bild on their Phrasenmäher podcast (as captured by Tz), the 23-year-old Bayer Leverkusen product said that Tuchel has a special attention to detail; he will always look to improve even if the games were as perfect as can be. “No matter how good the games were, if you had a bad pass in it, he was never completely satisfied,” Havertz said. Despite helping the 6-foot-2 attacker improve his game and develop a similar mindset for the details, the scorer of the winning goal in the 2021 Champions League Final said that Tuchel can sometimes be too much to handle.
