Borussia Dortmund

Evonik meets … Nico Würth

When and how did you become a Borussia Dortmund fan?
Believe it or not, it happened at the Parkstadion in Gelsenkirchen. The day was December 10, 1988 and the game none other than the derby against Schalke in the DFB Cup round of 16. I drove there together with Menn Rolz, a vocational school friend of mine (and also Luxembourg’s biggest ever Schalke fan), in a Renault 09. Borussia won 3–2, with goals from Michael Rummenigge, Michael Zorc und Nobby Dickel – you can imagine the sheer frenzy in the Dortmund fan block. I was instantly hooked. By the time our team won the DFB Cup that season in Berlin – on my 21st birthday, of all days – I had long turned into a true Borussia Dortmund fan.

FC Augsburg

Merry Christmas from FCA!

As 2023 comes to an end, FC Augsburg can look back on an exciting year. Particularly since Jess Thorup’s tenure as head coach began, FCA fans have been able to enjoy attractive and successful football. Eleven of the last 14 games at the WWK ARENA have had a sold-out home section, while the club has picked up an impressive 30 points on home soil, only suffering three defeats. We want to thank you all for your loyal support over the past twelve months, and look forward to sharing more memorable moments with you in the new year!

Five match observations from Germany’s uneven 3-2 loss to Belgium

Germany gave up two goals in the first nine minutes to Belgium and looked absolutely terrible for the majority of the first half before desperation kicked in. If you heard it was bad and didn’t see it, we can assure you it was worse than you can imagine.

SV Werder Bremen

“If you aim high, the little things take care of themselves.”

A very special year has come to an end for Marvin Ducksch. In 2023, SVW’s striker was the highest-scoring German footballer and earned himself a cap for the national team. “It was a very special year for me. I achieved a lot of the goals that I set for myself,” said the 29-year-old. Whether it’s on the pitch or playing board games with his family, only one thing matters to Ducksch – “I always win!”

Kramarić and the 17th strike

235 appearances, 105 goals, 48 assists – Andrej Kramarić’s numbers in the Bundesliga speak for themselves. VfL Bochum was the only blot on his statistical copybook, with the 32-year-old having previously failed to find the net the four times he has faced them. But Kramarić scored a goal against VfL in Friday evening’s 3-1 victory. The goal means that the Croat has now scored against the current Bundesliga clubs that he has played against.
