Gerd Pieper has been a club member for 40 years. In November 2003, he was appointed to the supervisory board of Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA, and five years later, the general assembly appointed him as deputy to the president. In autumn 2021, he had to resign from both offices for health reasons. “When we look at Borussia Dortmund’s successes over the past 15 years and the fact that BVB has always remained free of scandals, it is in large part thanks to Gerd Pieper,” said the current honorary president, Dr. Reinhard Rauball, about his long-time colleague.

If you sleep through one half, you don’t deserve more than a point in the end. We need to improve. Otherwise it will be difficult.”
Per Altschäffl, the Bayern Munich bosses, who unceremoniously sacked Julian Nagelsmann over fears the team would not be ready for the heightened setting of the Champions League, will not really evaluate Thomas Tuchel until next season:
SC missed several good chances to score in the first leg last week, something everyone in Freiburg will be hoping won’t be the case this time around. “We have to be clinical tomorrow,” said Grifo. Both teams defended well in Lens, however each will have to make changes for the second leg. Lens are without former Augsburg man Kevin Danso after his yellow card, but Facundo Medina, who missed the first leg after picking up three bookings in the Champions League group stage, is available again.
