Michael Zetterer will remain between the sticks for SV Werder Bremen. The 28-year-old goalkeeper has extended his contract with the Green-Whites, with Clemens Fritz, managing director for sport, announcing the news on Saturday morning.

Games for the TSG reserves in the Verbandsliga were followed by the sensational triumph – and a goal of his own – against Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the DFB-Pokal round of 16 in 2003, the title of top goalscorer in the Oberliga plus promotion to the Regionalliga – and ultimately the Bundesliga, where he made his first start as a 29-year-old. Sometimes reality is even more beautiful than any fairytale.

Injury occurred during the away game at TSG Hoffenheim

VfB Stuttgart produced another fantastic performance to record a deserved 3-1 win over Bayern Munich at the sold-out MHP Arena.

Borussia rescue late draw in Bremen Borussia drew 2-2 with SV Werder Bremen on Matchday 32...

It was a bitter ending to what was set to be a day of celebration for the Green-Whites, after the hosts gave away a 2-1 lead in their 1000th Bundesliga home game in the dying seconds. Werder shared the points with Borussia Mönchengladbach at the wohninvest WESERSTADION on Saturday afternoon, which ended in a 2-2 draw after Neuhaus bagged a last-gasp equaliser from the spot. After Reitz opened the scoring early on (8’), Nick Woltemade took the game by the scruff of the neck and responded by striking home a brace for the Green-Whites (45’, 65’), including his first ever goal in the German top division. The hosts held firm and remained in control until the end, when a penalty goal put a damper on their day and left the Green-Whites with just one point to show for their hard work.

FCA head coach Jess Thorup made three changes to his starting eleven from the 3-0 defeat against Werder Bremen. Tim Breithaupt and Maximilian Bauer came into the side, whilst Tomáš Koubek started the game in goal – the 31-year-old Czech replaced Finn Dahmen, who picked up an ankle ligament injury in training and will be out for the rest of the season.
