Romano Schmid has enjoyed a successful season so far. The Graz-born midfielder played an important role in Austria’s campaign at EURO 2024 after some consistent performances. Brazzo says Bayern Munich “had to act” on sacking Julian Nagelsmann, “surprised” team might strike out on ques…

“All decisions were made to the best of our knowledge and belief for FC Bayern. I’m doing my job 24/7 and always trying to do my best. When you see what kind of team we had before the start of the season — it’s surprising to me too that we might not win any title this season,” Salihamidžić told Sky (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We looked at it for a long time and were of the opinion that we had to act. Thomas Tuchel needs the preparation (preseason) with the team, then everything will be better.”

Thomas Tuchel’s a big fan of Joao Cancelo at Bayern Munich, but a permanent buy is unlikely

Thomas Tuchel expressed his delight with having Cancelo in the squad, though he admitted he’s not entirely sure what the future holds for the player. He knows that it’s not solely up to him whether he’s purchased on a permanent basis after his loan ends or not. “I have the impression that he feels very comfortable here. But in the end all parties are part of the decision. His desire in training is unique. I have the feeling that he’s really happy. We’ll discuss everything else after the end of the season,” Tuchel explained when he was asked about Cancelo and his current situation at Bayern (via @iMiaSanMia).

Marco Rose, RB Leipzig ecstatic with Champions League-confirming takedown of Bayern Munich

“Bayern weren’t much better than us. We know how we won,” said Leipzig head coach Marco Rose. “We felt at half-time that we could do a number of things better. We lost balls too easily in the first half, were lax with the ball. We wanted to be more compact, add more intensity, but also knew there was something in this for us today. With the counter for the equaliser, belief grew that we had them, and we took that. It was a great performance from us.”
