Vargas and Labrović both draw second game of the EUROs

Vargas retained his place in Switzerland’s starting eleven from the 3-1 win over Hungary. The 25-year-old mainly operated on the left wing and nearly registered two assists for Dan Ndoye, who was foiled on both occasions by Scotland goalkeeper Angus Gunn (33’, 58’). The Tartan Army took the lead through Scott McTominay (13’) before Xherdan Shaqiri scored a spectacular equaliser for Switzerland (26’). The game therefore ended in a 1-1 draw.

SV Werder Bremen have made another addition to their squad for the upcoming season. After spending three years gaining valuable experience at second-division side Schalke 04, Keke Topp has put pen to paper on a deal with his former club ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. Werder’s managing director for sport Clemens Fritz announced the decision to sign the forward on Tuesday afternoon.
