SV Werder Bremen

“That’s when I knew”

Olivier Deman made his Bundesliga debut on Sunday 17th September against 1. FC Heidenheim, where he provided his first assist with a perfectly-weighted cross for Mitchell Weiser, who headed home the equaliser for the Green-Whites. However, his happiness was short-lived, as Werder let the game slip away from them after their comeback and conceded two more goals. “We didn’t get any points out of it in the end,” said Deman in light of the 4-2 defeat. “I’m really proud to have made my debut for the team, but feel frustrated that we fought so hard and still came home empty handed.”Nevertheless, the Belgian brought a breath of fresh air into the game, which will make the Werder fans excited to see what he’s capable of in future games.

Elvis Rexhbecaj: “Honestly, we started the game well, but then conceded two disappointing goals. We knew that we could come back, we have already shown that again and again in the past. A set-piece situation then helped us get back in the game and after that we were very clinical in front of goal. Hats off to the team that we put in a performance like that here in Heidenheim, stayed calm and got our just rewards.”
