Building contractor Matthäi will become the new main and shirt sponsor of SV Werder Bremen, as of the 2023/24 season. The new agreement is a further deepening of ties between the two parties, with Matthäi having previously been one of the club’s TOP partners. The new sponsorship agreement will run until 2025/26.
The 2021/22 season is just over, but VfL Bochum 1848 are already looking forward when the first team will pick up the regular training sessions again on 20th June, 11:00 CET. The session is going to be open to the public.
After earning a well-fought point in Mönchengladbach, Daniel Caligiuri is hoping for another positive result this Saturday (24/8) against FC Bayern. The 31-year-old spoke with schalke04.de about a good start to the season, his more attacking role in David Wagner’s system, the upcoming game with the record champions and being named ‘Player of the Season’.
Rafał Gikiewicz: “It’s just an incredible feeling to get the second home win in a row, both of which have seen us keep clean sheets, and to get a great Friday night victory in front of our fans! It was an immense team performance and our new signings slotted into the squad nicely, bringing lots of quality onto the pitch. To have kept another shutout is especially pleasing, but that’s compliments to the entire defence.”
First, there’s ex-Bayern and Poland striker Robert Lewandowski. It will be De Ligt’s job in part to contain the lethal hitman, and he knows that won’t be an easy task.
Jesper Lindström: “That’s football. It’s about scoring goals and Dortmund scored one more than us. We deserved to score more, though. If you can say that after playing a team like Dortmund then it says a lot about the way we played. Obviously we’re disappointed because we really wanted to win. But now we have to look forward right away to the game against Sporting on Tuesday.”
Fredrik Bjørkan will leave Hertha BSC and join FK Bodø/Glimt. The 24-year-old had been on loan at Feyenoord since the start of this season, but will now return to his hometown club. “We are pleased to have found a suitable solution for all sides with this transfer. We would like to thank Fredrik for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future,” said sporting director Fredi Bobic on Wednesday.
