Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos thinks Tottenham striker Harry Kane should move to the Bernabeu this summer after Karim Benzema left the club.
Los Blancos announced on Sunday that Benzema is leaving the La Liga giants as their most decorated player after 14 years.
Former France striker Benzema, 35, won 25 trophies during his time in Madrid and scored 354 goals in 648 appearances to become Real’s second all-time top scorer after Cristiano Ronaldo.
He netted for the final time for Real in their last game of the season on Sunday night, a penalty equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao.
And there as Real Madrid search for a new world-class striker.
Kane has and there are reports that he would prefer to remain in England so he can break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record.
But former Real Madrid defender Ramos thinks Kane should take the opportunity to play for the “special club” and hailed him as a “great football player”.
“My advice to any player is don’t turn down the opportunity to play for Real Madrid – it is a special club who know how to win,” Ramos said.
“He [Kane] has an incredible physical presence, you can’t score as many goals as he does in the Premier League and not be able to play the physical side of the game.
“But also he can play the technical side of the game as well and I don’t think he gets enough credit for that.
“Yes, he is a great goal scorer but also he is a great football player as well.”
Ramos, who played with Benzema for 12 of the Frenchman’s 14 years at the Bernabeu, thinks the striker is so “unique” that Real Madrid will struggle to replace him.
“He [Benzema] has contributed to so much success with Real Madrid you will never be able to replace him – he is one of those players who is unique in the history of Madrid,” Ramos added.
“Not everybody can play for Real Madrid as there is so much pressure and expectation – so it needs to be the right player.”
