Borussia drawn against fifth-tier TuS Bersenbrück in first round of DFB-Pokal

The Foals will travel to face fifth-division side TuS Bersenbrück in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. The match will be played on the weekend of 11th to 14th August.

Borussia Mönchengladbach’s first competitive game of the 2023/24 season will take place against TuS Bersenbrück in the first round of the DFB-Pokal. The fifth-tier side finished fourth in the Oberliga Niedersachsen last term and qualified for the cup as Lower Saxony cup champions. The first-round draw took place at the Germany Football museum in Dortmund on Sunday evening, and was conducted by pole vaulter Sarah Vogel and DFB president Bernd Neuendorf.

The match will take place on the weekend of 11th to 14th August. The date and time of the fixture is usually confirmed 10 to 12 days after the draw.

Borussia were knocked out of last season’s DFB-Pokal in the second round, after a 2-1 defeat to newly-promoted Bundesliga side SV Darmstadt 98. The club last won the cup back in 1995.
