Transfer gossip: Man Utd battle Liverpool for £31m West Ham star; Arteta targets trio

Mikel Arteta’s drawn up a shortlist of three central midfield targets, while Sofyan Amrabat’s agent has urged Man Utd to make another bid for his client this summer.

It’s no secret Arsenal are after a central midfielder this summer. Declan Rice’s name comes up more frequently than most, with the Gunners now thought to be ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign the England international.

And according to Football Insider, , with the club ready to submit a £100m bid for the 24-year-old. But as the report states, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are all thought to be interested.

There will likely be similar competition for Brighton star Moises Caicedo, who is another name on Arteta’s summer shortlist.

Arsenal had two bids worth up to £70million rejected for the 21-year-old back in the January transfer window so would presumably have to up their offer again to land him.

Amadou Onana is the last name on the list and would likely be the cheapest option.

The Belgium international moved to Everton for £30m in the summer and has impressed despite the Toffees’ iffy season. Football Insider claim they want £70m for him.

Manchester United may have more luck signing one of their January targets if they make another attempt this summer.

agent has confirmed that the Red Devils made an attempt to sign his client after the World Cup.

“We received more than one offer during the winter window,” Mohammed Sinou told Kora Plus. “Including one from Manchester United, but the negotiation was not completed.

“The president of Fiorentina (Rocco Commisso) absolutely refused to let him leave at that moment. He represented value for the team, especially after what he did in the World Cup.”

But Sinou has as good as issued a come-and-get-me plea to United or other interested parties, having revealed he has an agreement with Fiorentina that they will listen to offers for Amrabat.

“The future? At the moment we have no offers for the summer. But Fiorentina will listen to the offers,” the agent adds of his £35 million-rated client.

“It’s a promise we got from the president after he rejected the offers in the winter transfer market.”

Manchester United and Liverpool will reportedly do battle to sign West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd this summer.

The 27-year-old joined the Hammers at the start of the season from Stade Rennais for £31m and has impressed for David Moyes’ side recently having been out of the starting XI due to injury in the early stages of the campaign.

And according to Jeunes Footeux, United have been impressed sufficiently to deem the Morocco international the right signing to provide competition for Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

Liverpool are also said to be in the hunt for Aguerd, whom West Ham may decide to offload as they face the prospect of no European football next season.
