Owen shot down by Gerrard, Rio as Chelsea-linked Inter star would get in Man City team

Michael Owen claimed none of the Inter Milan stars would get into the Real Madrid or Manchester City teams as I Nerazzurri eased past AC Milan and into the Champions League final on Tuesday, but was immediately shot down by his fellow pundits.

Onana kept an eighth clean sheet in the Champions League this season and Rio Ferdinand echoed Gerrard’s praise of the Cameroonian.

“I agree with what Steven’s saying. A modern day goalkeeper, he’s top class. Takes the ball under pressure, doesn’t panic. Brings the other team onto him to create space around him. They’re going to need a big performance out of someone like him if they’re going to win.”

Onana joined Inter on a free transfer from Ajax last summer and is already being linked with a move away from the San Siro, with .

It’s claimed the Blues are willing to pay £40m for Onana, but may look to drop that sum by offering Edouard Mendy in return.
