The Glazer family are ‘undecided’ on who they will sell Man Utd to with a sale not expected to come to fruition until June, according to a report.
have been up for sale since last November when the Glazers announced they would “evaluate all options”.
Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim and INEOS’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe then emerged as the most likely candidates to take control of the Premier League club.
Three rounds of bidding have taken place, with the final offers submitted at the end of April, though it has since been reported that as he looks to beat Sir Jim in the race.
The Qatari reportedly wants full ownership of the club, with Ratcliffe apparently happy to run the club alongside the highly-controversial Glazer family.
The Glazers are less than popular throughout the Man Utd fan base and the whole saga surrounding their sale has been taking its toll on them.
A recent report from Football Insider stated that Sheikh Jassim’s offer – believed to be in the region of £5.5billion – is ‘favoured by most leading minority investors in the club’.
The saga has been going on for over six months and it does not look like it will be resolved until next month at the earliest.
Sportico journalist Asli Pelit has claimed that the Glazers are ‘expected to review all their options’ when the Premier League season comes to an end on May 28, though Man Utd have an FA Cup final against Man City a week later.
The Glazer family are yet to make a ‘unified decision on what they will do with the club’, leaving Ratcliffe and Jassim in limbo.
Man Utd fans are anxiously waiting to see what will happen ahead of what will be a crucial summer transfer window.
Erik ten Hag is desperate for a new striker and is reportedly interested in Tottenham’s and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who are both expected to cost at least £100million.
A No. 9 is absolutely imperative, but it remains to be seen who will be the club’s owners by the time the transfer window opens, and with that amount of uncertainty, Ten Hag cannot realistically know when he can spend money and how much he will have at his disposal.
Osimhen’s Napoli teammate Kim Min-jae is being heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford and will cost around £43m.
