Man City suffer pushback from major target as he’d ‘rather stay’ put than make wrong move

Manchester City may be pushed back by Jude Bellingham, as the Borussia Dortmund star would reportedly rather ‘stay at Dortmund’ for another year than make the wrong move.

The saga pertaining to the future of Bellingham looks to be coming to an end. Every club in the world would surely like to call upon the England midfielder.

However, the shortlist of sides who can make the move seems to be getting slimmer. Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid have looked the three most likely sides to complete the snare.

However, earlier in the week, . The price of the signing was weighed up with the need to improve a number of positions and it was decided going through with the pursuit was the wrong choice.

That’s given advantage to City and Real Madrid. according to a report, and while they’re expected to do battle with Real, they’ve got the upper hand as they won’t need to raise funds for the transfer, while the Spanish side will.

That report suggested it will take £130million to land the midfielder, hence City’s financial might coming in handy.

However, the shortlist of names who can land Bellingham might soon go from a few to none. The Times reports Bellingham would ‘rather stay at Dortmund and reassess in 2024 than be pushed towards a move that’s not absolutely right for him.’

That report doesn’t suggest if there have been any indications over what Bellingham thinks would be right at present.

It does, however, state that there was ‘never any indication’ he preferred Liverpool. Indeed, the report goes on to say ‘all factors other than what is best for his development have been taken out of the equation’ to this point in his career.

Indeed, he won’t make a big move for the sake of making it. As such, any interested side, be that City, Real, or anybody else, will have to convince him their project is the right move.

If nobody is able to do that, then he’ll simply remain with Dortmund until that does happen.
