Liverpool have been given hope in their bid to sign Goncalo Inacio, with Sporting Lisbon reportedly prepared to accept different ‘solutions’ to meet their valuation having rejected bids of €30m.

A report earlier this month claimed Liverpool ‘thinks about the signing’ of Inacio as the centre-back continues to ‘accumulate suitors’.

It was claimed Merseysiders ‘would be willing to make an offer close to’ €50m with Inacio emerging as ‘one of the most promising defenders in European football’.

The 21-year-old is ‘an interesting option’ for Liverpool as he can play at both centre-back and right-back with Klopp eyeing ‘a major restructuring’ of his squad.

The report stated Liverpool are ready to ‘bid on sight’ but they are ‘not the only team interested’ in Inacio with Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United both named as potential destinations.

And now A Bola (via Sport Witness) claim there’s a ‘strong hypothesis’ Sporting will allow Inacio to leave this summer, confirming Liverpool have been tracking the 21-year-old for some time.

It’s recalled that previous €30m offers for Inacio have been turned down by Sporting, who are holding out for his release clause of €45m.

But the Portuguese side are said to be willing to accept different ‘solutions’ to meet the €45m they’re after, including a small up-front fee with ‘easily attainable’ bonuses.

The report also states that there’s further interest from the Premier League and in Serie A, though no other clubs are mentioned.

It was thought for a while that Inacio could join Liverpool along with teammate Manuel Ugarte, but it now appears Paris Saint-Germain have won the battle for the midfielder.

Liverpool, Spurs and Aston Villa were also said to be keen on the Uruguay international, with a report claiming Sporting were particularly angry about courting from Jurgen Klopp’s side.

But L’Equipe claim talks are ‘very advanced’ and that the Ligue 1 side ‘will trigger’ Ugarte’s €60m release clause.

‘Barring a U-turn, the 22-year-old will be PSG’s first signing this summer.
