Erling Haaland was in fine spirits after his Champions League heroics for Manchester City as they sailed through to the next round.

The 22-year-old was on a personal mission last night as he smashed five goals past RB Leipzig

Haaland became only the third player in Champions League history to score five goals in a match after Lionel Messi and Luiz Adriano.

After his five-goal showing, with 10 of those goals coming in Europe.

Following the victory, Haaland spoke to CBS Sports and he could help but take a hilariously brutal swipe at Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards on the panel.

“It’s an amazing feeling. I think you [Thierry Henry] are the only one that maybe knows how to score a lot of goals,” Haaland said which sent the panel into hysterics.

“I’ll be honest, the feeling is amazing. First of all to win 7-0 and give a ‘statement’ in this tournament, in the Champions League, which is a tournament I love. To give a statement that we can actually score seven goals,” he added.

“It’s not easy to score seven goals so it’s an amazing feeling. In the first-half I could have scored more. It’s true. I could have had two more goals in the first-half. There was also crosses from Kevin I could have been at.

“There was possibilities but if I stayed on the pitch, no-one knows what would happen. In my mind I always have to look for the next and reach more to stay hungry because if someone scores five goals you have to be happy, but you have to want more of course.

“The club want to win the Champions League, they want to win trophies. They know how to win the Premier League so they didn’t bring me to win, so you can read between the lines.

“I’m here to try to help the club develop even more, to win the Champions League.”

There’s no doubt that Man City will now be considered as one of the favourites to go all the way in Europe this season.

Next up for Pep Guardiola’s side is an FA Cup clash against Burnley, before they return to league action at the start of April against Liverpool.
