Friendly against Kassel: On Sunday morning the Wolves played a friendly game against KSV Hessen Kassel in order to help the players who have not featured as much recently to maintain their rhythm. The Green-and-Whites earned a 3-1 win with goals from Jakub Kaminski, Renato Steffen and Kevin Paredes.
Draw in September: VfL overcame Carl Zeiss Jena in the first round of the DFB Cup but must now wait almost five weeks to discover their next opponents, with the second-round draw scheduled to take place on Sunday 4 September. Matches are to be played on 18/19 October.
