Wimmer clinches point

The Wolves rounded off Bundesliga Matchday 24 on Sunday evening with a 1-1 draw against Union Berlin at the Volkswagen Arena. VfL substitute Patrick Wimmer netted a deserved equaliser for the hosts in the 84th minute, after Josip Juranovic had given Union the lead from the penalty spot (72’).

0-1 Juranovic (72’, pen): The visitors take the lead after VfL fail to make the most of several opportunities. Josuha Guilavogui catches Aissa Laidouni late in the penalty area and referee Robert Schröder points to the spot, allowing Juranovic to fire past Koen Casteels.

1-1 Wimmer (84’): Finally! Two substitutes combine as Kevin Paredes dribbles into the area from the left before cutting the ball back to Wimmer, who beats Frederik Rönnow with a crisp, low effort to give VfL the equaliser they deserve.
