Tim Siersleben won’t be returning to VfL Wolfsburg for the foreseeable future. The 23-year-old centre-back has completed a permanent move to 1. FC Heidenheim after spending the last two seasons on loan at the newly promoted Bundesliga side. “Tim has made a wonderful improvement there – one which we’ve been following closely,” said VfL sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz. “We’ve now found an agreement that suits both parties and also leaves us with options for the future.”
Siersleben joined VfL’s academy as a 16-year-old before making the step up to the first team. For the good of his development, VfL decided to loan him to Heidenheim ahead of the 2021/22 campaign and the Magdeburg native quickly blossomed into a key player, making 45 competitive appearances overall. Siersleben helped Heidenheim win the Bundesliga 2 title and promotion to the top flight last term.
