Team news: “Jiri Pavlenka, Naby Keïta, Christian Groß and Nicolai Rapp are ill and will all miss the match. Everyone else is an option to make the matchday squad,” head coach Ole Werner said at the pre-match press conference on Friday. Niklas Stark was also able to return to team training after being sidelined for several weeks with an injury, and will travel with the team this weekend. The coaching staff are planning to give him a few minutes of game time, as it’s still too early for a full return.
Ole Werner on the opponent: “Wolfsburg have a lot of quality in every position and they have an excellent centre forward in Jonas Wind. In my opinion, they will be one of the teams competing for a spot in Europe next season. They’ve got a lot of pace in their side and are organised, but they’ve struggled to stay consistent over 90 minutes. We have to recognise these phases and capitalise on them.”
