On the other side of the world, one goal was enough for Colombia to beat Paraguay on Tuesday night. Rafael Borré converted a penalty in the 11th minute to put Los Cafeteros 1-0 up and keep his team in third place in the CONMEBOLWorld Cup qualifiers. The forward was named in the starting XI and came off in 74th minute.

With their victory against Poland, Woltemade and Co. went to the top of the Group D standings of U21 EURO qualification. After going 1-0 down, the Germany U21 side got back level before Werder’s number 29 bagged his first goal for the U21s and then set up his team’s third goal just three minutes later, after dribbling past a Polish defender. The match ended 3-1, which meant Poland and Germany switched positions in the table. Woltemade was brought on at half time.

Germany’s senior side were not as impressive, however. Marvin Ducksch entered the game in the 77th minute, when Julian Nagelsmann’s team were trailing 2-0 and down to ten men. He was powerless to turn the game around against a strong Austria side. Romano Schmid came on in the 81st minute for the hosts.
