Monday, May 1st, finds 1. FC Union’s traditional Women’s Football Day, now entering its 16th year. The family festival for young and old will take place on and around the training ground in Hämmerlingstraße in Berlin-Köpenick. Festivities and events begin from 09:00.
The sporting highlight of the day will be the friendly between Union’s women’s side and the 2. Liga’s 1. FC Köln II at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei. Admission is free, kick-off is at 14:00. The stadium opens its gates at 13:00.
The day begins with players from the girls’ and women’s departments of 1. FC Union Berlin taking part in tournament matches on the training pitches in Hämmerlingstraße from 09:15.
All your little Unioners can let off steam on the bouncy castle and the children’s carousel or have their face painted. This year there will also be the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the stadium.
Cold drinks and barbecue food will be available in the Hämmerlingeck beer garden at the stadium, and anyone still looking for Union merchandise can rummage around in the Zeughaus-Waldseite from 13:00.
Also at 13:00, the gates of the stadium An der Alten Försterei will open for the women’s friendly match against 1. FC Köln II.
