Union’s women’s team’s opponents in the 2nd round of the 2024/25 DFB Pokal has been announced, with a tie against RasenBallsport Leipzig at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.
Former national team player and Sky pundit Verena Schweers drew the lots immediately after Union’s dramatic first round win against FSV Gütersloh. The second round will take place from 7 to 9 September, with the exact dates still to be announced.
“‘We are very happy to have been drawn for a home match. We already saw last season that we can put in a very good performance at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.” said Union’s managing director of women’s professional football, Jennifer Zietz, on the draw. “We will do everything we can to make the 2nd round against Leipzig as exciting as possible. We are aware that a Bundesliga team with these qualities are the favourite.”
All further information on the match will follow in the coming weeks.
