When 1. FC Union Berlin welcomes Glasgow Rangers for the first home test match of the new season on Saturday, 27 July at 5pm, there will be considerable disruption to public transport around the An der Alten Försterei stadium.
There is currently no tram service between Schöneweide S-Bahn station and the Alte Försterei stop. Lines M17, 21, 27, 37, 60, 61, 67 are interrupted due to track construction work in the area of Treskowallee, Brückenstraße and Wilhelminenhofstraße. A rail replacement service with buses is running instead.
There are also restrictions on the S-Bahn line 3 to and from S Köpenick. It is currently running on a single track with limited capacity. However, the S-Bahn will continue to offer a 10-minute interval. Further information can be found on the official homepage of S-Bahn Berlin GmbH.
It should also be noted that a concert is taking place at the Parkbühne Wuhlheide on Saturday, so that increased use of all means of transport is to be expected.
All visitors to the match against Glasgow are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to arrive at the stadium in good time, as the match will be almost sold out.
