On Saturday afternoon (25/9), 1. FC Union Berlin will play Arminia Bielefeld at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.

On Tuesday September 14, the Berlin Senate adopted a “2G” model, which allows event organisers to only allow people with full vaccination or who have recovered if they are dispensing measures such as social distance and masks. This is not a realistic option for 1. FC Union Berlin at this moment:

“The Senate has explicitly ruled out the mixing of vaccinated or recovered people and those who are not in the context of 2G events. For us, it is inconceivable to deny children under 12 and people who cannot or should not be vaccinated access to our team’s matches. The staffing requirements for a major event cannot be met with the 2G rule either. I consider the exclusion of large parts of the population from social life to be disproportionate. Such a measure risks undermining people’s cohesion and poisoning the social climate,” said 1. FC Union Berlin club president Dirk Zingler.

1. FC Union Berlin’s home match against Arminia Bielefeld will go ahead with a “3G” strategy, including the option of a negative test. Assuming there will remain a 50% lock on capacity, tickets will be allocated by ballot among season ticket holders for 2021/22.

The ballot begins Friday September 17 at 12:00 and ends Sunday 19th at midnight.

Members can pick up any remaining tickets from Thursday September 23 at 12:00 online.

A public sale will follow a day later if there are tickets still left.
