On Monday, 1 July, 1. FC Union Berlin’s Bundesliga team will start their preparations for the next season under the watchful eye of the new sporting management.
48 days until the first competitive match
Once again this year, the annual medical and sporting tests will mark the start of pre-season preparations, followed by the first sessions on the training pitch and then the first friendly, at BSG Chemie Leipzig on 6 July 2024.
One week later, on 13 July, head Coach Bo Svensson’s squad will travel to the first of two training camps for six days, in the familiar atmosphere of Längenfeld in Austria. A further friendly match is also being planned for during this time.
Back at home in Köpenick, Union will then first face the Scottish record champions Rangers at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei on 27 July, before travelling again the following day. During the second training camp, also presented by sonnenschutz.de, from 28 July to 3 August in Neuruppin, Brandenburg, the team will continue to work on their form and fitness. Another friendly will then also take place on 3 August at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.
Preparations will end with a final friendly, this time against San Sebastian’s Real Sociedad. The sixth-placed team from the previous LaLiga season will visit the Alte Försterei on 9 August.
