July Sees Union Start Afresh

With thoughts still drifting back towards the completed Bundesliga season, the view for 1. FC Union Berlin turns towards getting ready for the new one ahead. After five weeks of summer holidays Union’s male first-team squad will be starting their preparations at the beginning of July. The start of training, pre-season friendlies, training camps… Here are all the important dates for summer 2023.

Kicking off on July 3^rd, wrapping things up at the beginning of August

After the start of training on 03.07.2023, which will involve extensive medical and sporting tests – Union will head, as usual, to a short training camp in Bad Saarow (6^th – 9^th July).

After the stay at Scharmützelsee, the players will then have a packed programme ahead of them. Union will play four pre-season friendlies between the 12^th and 22^nd of July 2023. The first opponents have already been confirmed, and the remaining ones will follow shortly.

After last year’s successful training camp, Union will once again pitch its tents in Austria, this time in Bramberg am Wildkogel. This summer’s training camp will once again be presented by Union’s long-standing partner sonnenschutz.de. All fans travelling to join the team can look forward to two friendlies as part of the training camp.

As usual, the pre-season will conclude with a final friendly at the stadion An der Alten Försterei.

The draw for the first round of the DFB Pokal will take place on 18.06.2023 and the draw for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League will be on 31.08.2023.
