1. FC Union Berlin have loaned striker Jordan Siebatcheu to fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach.
A dream start in Köpenick
The US international only joined Union last summer, but he showed immediately why they had signed him, especially in his first few weeks in Berlin. His goal in the first round of the DFB Pokal at Chemnitzer FC was followed by three more and two assists in the first seven Bundesliga matches. He had followed this up with one more of each by the end of the season, with his winner in the 2-1 victory over 1. FSV Mainz 05 certainly being one of his most important for Union.
At the end of his debut season in Köpenick, the right-footer had made a total of 42 appearances, including eight games in the UEFA Europa League.
In the nascent 2023/24 season, Jordan has already made two appearances in red and white, coming on as a substitute away to FC-Astoria Walldorf in the cup and against SV Darmstadt 98.
View on the loan
“Jordan has played many games for us and scored some important goals,” said Union’s director of men’s professional football, Oliver Ruhnert on the deal. “Nevertheless, our current situation with many attacking players has now led us to agree to a loan.”
