‘Protecting what we love’ was the message at last night’s general meeting of the “An der Alten Försterei” Stadionbetriebs AG.
Back at the club’s annual general meeting in October, Union President Dirk Zingler had already declared: ‘Our stadium should always belong to the people who care about it. The members of 1. FC Union Berlin and their families, their children, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.’
Yesterday evening’s Annual General Meeting paved the way for the issue of new stadium shares with the resolution to carry out another capital increase.
For the first time since 2011, around 70,000 club members and sponsors will have the opportunity to become owners of their stadium from 9 December 2024 at 08.00.*.
The Stadion An der Alten Försterei has been the home ground of 1. FC Union Berlin and its predecessor clubs since 1920. However, the ‘Alte Försterei’ has long meant much more. This is where the heart of the club beats, where Union players feel at home. This home must be protected and developed for future generations.
Anyone wishing to become a stadium owner from 9 December 2024 must be a member of 1. FC Union Berlin, by the end of November at the latest. Subscription to the new stadium share is possible both online and in person.
