Maxi Mittelstädt is currently one of the leading providers in the Bundesliga with three assists, two of which came in the stunning 5-1 win at home to Borussia Dortmund. A week later, he also laid on the last-minute equaliser in the 2-2 draw at VfL Wolfsburg.

Based on these top numbers in September, the panel at the Deutsche Fußball Liga have nominated the left-back for the September Player of the Month award.

Also in the running alongside Mittelstädt are Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt), Michael Olise, Harry Kane (both FC Bayern Munich), Florian Wirtz (Bayer 04 Leverkusen) and Vincenzo Grifo (SC Freiburg).
