After the 4-0 friendly victory over SSV Reutlingen and a day off on Sunday, VfB Stuttgart departed for their training camp in Austria on Monday, with an evening session on the agenda following their arrival in Neukirchen.

Birthday boy gives VfB-TV interview

Enzo Millot celebrated his 21st birthday as VfB made the trip to Neukirchen am Großvenediger. “Many thanks for the birthday wishes,” the Frenchman said in an interview with VfB-TV. “It would definitely have been nice to have my wife and children with me today, but this is part and parcel of my job and it’s important to have a good pre-season in order to have a successful Bundesliga campaign. It was a long trip but we’re in the mountains, we’re staying at a great hotel and the pitch conditions are fantastic.”

Millot has not yet been able to take part in training due to muscular problems, but he is nevertheless optimistic that he will shortly be able to return to work alongside his teammates: “I hope that it passes quickly and I can be back in action soon.”

International players to return this week

On Tuesday, Greece international Konstantinos Mavropanos is expected to check in at the training camp, before Japanese duo Wataru Endo and Hiroki Ito also arrive from their homeland to complete the squad in Neukirchen. Josha Vagnoman will join up with the group after the camp as a result of his participation at the European U21 Championship, with his exact return date still to be determined.
