Angelo Stiller came on as an 82nd-minute substitute in Germany’s Nations League match against Hungary, making his international debut on Saturday evening in Düsseldorf as the team ran out 5-0 winners.

“He did well, he wasted no time getting into the action,” said Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann of Stiller after the match, in which Chris Führich, Maximilian Mittelstädt, Alexander Nübel and Deniz Undav were all unused substitutes. Germany’s next Nations League action comes on Tuesday away to Netherlands (kick-off 20:45 CEST).

Ermedin Demirovic was also on international duty on Saturday evening, but his Bosnia and Herzegovina side went down 5-2 to the Dutch. The striker was involved for 83 minutes of the match and scored in the first half to make it 1-1.

Fabian Rieder also suffered defeat, with Switzerland losing 2-0 to Denmark on Thursday evening. Enzo Millot, meanwhile, was involved in a 1-1 draw with Slovenia on Friday night with France U21s and got to wear the captain’s armband. A full run-down of international results involving VfB players can be found below.

All of VfB’s internationals will have a second fixture over the coming days before the international break comes to an end and the players return to Stuttgart.
