Cup quarter-final date set

VfB have reached the last eight of the DFB Cup this season courtesy of wins over Dynamo Dresden (1-0), Arminia Bielefeld (6-0) and SC Paderborn 07 (2-1). Nürnberg, meanwhile, won away at 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn (2-0) and SV Waldhof Manheim (1-0) in the opening two rounds, then defeated Fortuna Düsseldorf 5-3 on penalties at home in the round of 16.

VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth: “The time for favourite opponents has long gone by the quarter-finals. Nürnberg haven’t got this far in the competition to let us take control without a fight. We’re desperate to reach the next round and are ready for a tough battle.”
