RB Leipzig captain Willi Orban won’t be available for the next two matches.
The centerback was sent off by referee Benjamin Brand on the 85th minute of the Bundesliga match against VfL Bochum. On August 27, 2024, the DFB’s Sports Court ruled Orban’s sentence based on unsportsmanlike conduct, which the RBL player has decided to appeal.
On Monday, September 2, at 2:00PM local time, the DFB Sport Court will hear the player’s verbal appeal against the two-match ban. The Deputy Chairman of the DFB Sports Court, Georg Schierholz, will be in charge of the proceeding set to take place at the DFB Campus.
Until the issue is resolved, Willi Orban will remain suspended, meaning he will miss RB Leipzig’s Bundesliga match against Bayer 04 Leverkusen this upcoming Saturday (6:30PM CEST/ 12:30 ET)
