No more international break!
The RBL boys will take on VfL Wolfsburg to kick start the final set of fixtures before the winter break on Saturday (15:30 CET). The players took photos and signed autographs for fans before an intense training session.
Willi Orban trained individually. El Chadaille Bitshiabu and Kevin Kampl were partially involved in team training. Timo Werner (adductor problems) und Castello Jr. (load management after international break) didn’t participate in today’s session. Peter Gulacsi trained individually due to a bruised toe.
RBL striker Lois Openda took a quick break from the session to speak about the international break, the upcoming clash with VfL Wolfsburg and Leipzig as a city.

Lois Openda on…
…spending the international break with Belgium
- “I’m happy to be back in Leipzig, but I had a great time during the international break. It was important to end our qualifying campaign on a high. We had the chance to celebrate a bit. Now, the most important thing is to focus on the weekend and our next opponents Wolfsburg.”
…the next opponents
- “The last game didn’t go how we wanted it to go, but that’s all in the past. We want to go to Wolfsburg on Saturday and get the three points.”
…his partnership with Xavi
- “We have a good relationship. It’s easy to play with someone as talented as him. He knows how I like to play and vice versa. We complement each other very well. We want to build on what we’ve already achieved together. We speak French on the pitch, but we both know Flemish, too.”
…his new home
- “I feel right at home in Leipzig. People treated me like a family member when I arrived here. The coaching staff looked after me. Leipzig’s quickly become a second home for me and my family. I’ve not got a favourite place yet, but I really like lots of spots around the city.”
