• “A lot of lads got 90 minutes in their legs, which was important for us – we wanted everyone to get plenty of game time. Aside from a small bad phase in the second game, we did really well. We can be happy with today if everyone has stayed fit.”

• “Pre-season has been quite short for us so far. We could only really get started quite late on because we had so many players on international duty at the end of last season. Our fitness levels are decent at the moment, but our chemistry is not quite there – that’s down to the fact that we have so many new faces. The players are willing to learn and listen. • “It was great that we won this game. We were a little disappointed that we failed to beat Udinese, Ipswich Town and Werder during the training camp. We wanted to get the win today and play some attacking football, which is exactly what we did. We can be happy with the performance, though we were quite wasteful with our chances in the second half especially.”
