After another successful league phase, RBLZ Gaming want to become German Club Champion in eFootball for the third year in a row at the final tournament of the VBL Club Championship next weekend (March 23rd/24th). LOCATION, FORMAT AND PRIZE MONEY

LOCATION

• As in 2022 and 2023, the VBL CC final will take place at the street kicker base in Mülheim Cologne. The soccer hall is the “living room” of world champion Lukas Podolski and offers 5,000 square meters of space. 

  “Poldi” himself has been there in previous years to look over the shoulders of the country’s best EA FC professionals. Since the VBL CC final was played offline and in the street kicker base, the club champion has always been RBLZ Gaming, a good omen. It should stay that way in 2024.
   

FORMAT

• The final tournament starts with a group phase – the ten best teams are divided into two groups of five. All games in the group phase will be played in the same way as in the division phase. The club that wins after a maximum of three individual games (2v2, 1v1, 1v1) takes the three points. 

  In the event of a draw, each club receives one point. Then it continues with the knockout phase (quarter-finals, semi-finals, final). Here, every single game is a knockout match, which, in the event of a potential draw after 90 minutes, is decided in extra time or with a penalty shootout. Whoever has the upper hand in the best-of-three mode advances to the next round.
   

PRIZE MONEY

• The VBL Club Championship in the 2023/24 season offers prize money of 87,500 euros, which will be distributed to the most successful clubs over the entire season. The largest split goes to the German club champions.

Freitag | 22. März

• Bereits am Freitag geht’s in der Straßenkickerbase zur Sache: In den Playoffs werden ab 17.00 Uhr die verbleibenden sechs Plätze für das Finale ausgespielt. RBLZ Gaming umgeht die Playoffs als Zweitplatzierter der Division Süd-Ost. Nur die jeweils zwei besten Teams aus den beiden Divisionen Nord-West und Süd-Ost haben sich direkt für das Finale qualifiziert.

   

Samstag | 23. März

• Am Samstag greifen die RBLZ um Anders Vejrgang, Umut Gültekin & Co. ins Geschehen ein. Die Zeitplanung für den ersten Finaltag, an dem der Großteil der Gruppenphase gespielt wird:

  ➛ ab 11:00 Uhr: Gruppe A

  ➛ ab 16:30 Uhr: Gruppe B

   

Sonntag | 24. März

• Am Sonntag startet dann die Crunch Time – und es entscheidet sich, wer neuer Clubmeister im eFootball wird. Direkt im Anschluss an den letzten Spieltag der Gruppenphase erwartet die Zuschauer die K.o.-Phase:

  ➛ ab 10:30 Uhr: Letzter Spieltag Gruppe A & B

  ➛ ab 13:25 Uhr: K.o.-Phase

  ➛ ab 18:30 Uhr: Finale

SCHEDULE

FRIDAY | MARCH 22

• We get down to business on Friday at the street kicker base. In the playoffs, the remaining six places for the final will be played out from 5 p.m. RBLZ Gaming bypasses the playoffs as runners-up in the South-East division. Only the two best teams from the North-West and South-East divisions qualified directly for the final.

   

SATURDAY | MARCH 23RD

• On Saturday the RBLZ around Anders Vejrgang, Umut Gültekin & Co. will take part in the action. The schedule for the first day of the final, on which the majority of the group phase will be played:

  ➛ from 11:00 a.m.: Group A

  ➛ from 4:30 p.m.: Group B

   

SUNDAY | MARCH 24TH

• Crunch time starts on Sunday – and the new club champion in eFootball will be crowned. The knockout phase Immediately follows the last matchday of the group phase:

  ➛ from 10:30 a.m.: Last matchday group A & B

  ➛ from 1:25 p.m.: knockout phase

  ➛ from 6:30 p.m.: final
   

TITLE CHANCES AND COMPETITION

• As defending champions and winners in the previous two years, the RBLZ travel to Cologne as one of the big favourites. However, there is top-class competition this time too. So far, in addition to RBLZ Gaming:1. FSV Mainz 05 qualified as division champions in the southeast while SC Paderborn 07 and SV Werder Bremen qualified from the northwest division. These three teams – just like the RBLZ – have a chance of winning the title.

  Paderborn have the most goals across divisions this season (278), while Werder Bremen, also a two-time VBL CC champion (2019 and 2020), are traditionally one of the favorites. The RBLZ have already competed against Mainz twice in the division phase. The first leg went to Umut & Co., and there was a draw in the second leg.

  The other six finalists will be decided on Friday during the playoffs. One thing is clear: RBLZ are the favourites. That doesn’t make it any easier for our team – everyone wants to trip up the defending champions. As in 2022 and 2023, a difficult task awaits us against top competition. Nevertheless, the path should lead to the third Club Championship title in a row.

RBLZ GAMING BOOTCAMP

• In order to prepare as best as possible for the VBL CC final, RBLZ will be in Cologne from Thursday (March 21st). Undertaking a boot camp focusing on the finishing touches in the SK Gaming rooms. RBLZ coach Daniel Fehr can work with the team there under the most professional conditions. Even after the VBL CC final, the RBLZ will be back at SK Gaming for a boot camp next Monday (March 25th). Then we prepare for the round of 16 in the DFB ePokal against SV 07 Elversberg, which will take place on Tuesday (March 26th) .

  But before the next round of the DFB ePokal begins, the VBL CC final will take place!
