SV Werder Bremen finished 13th in the Bundesliga last season, their first season back in the German top flight after securing promotion at the first time of asking in 2021/22. RBL won each of the two meetings between the sides last season by a scoreline of 2-1. Former RB Leipzig player Naby Keita, who played 71 games for the club between 2016 and 2018, is a summer arrival and is one of three former RBL players in Ole Werner’s squad alongside Anthony Jung and Oliver Burke.Ipswich Town finished 2nd in League One, England’s third tier, last season, thus securing promotion to the Championship. The club’s biggest honours date back many years; they were English Champions in 1962, FA Cup winners in 1978 and also won the UEFA Cup in 1981.
