Goal facts

  • Our top goalscorer Lois Openda netted his fifth and sixth goal of the season in his first brace for RBL. Before this game he had never scored for Leipzig in an away fixture.

  • Emil Forsberg converted a free-kick – our first goal from a dead-ball this season.

  • Emil has now scored at least one goal in each of the eight Bundesliga seasons that he has been involved in.

  • With Forsberg’s goal, ten different RBL players have now scored this season – more than any other Bundesliga side.

  • Benjamin Henrichs got the assist for the first goal of the game, which puts him on four assists for the season in all competitions – level with Xavi.

  • With his assist to make it 3-1, Christoph Baumgartner got his first goal involvement for Leipzig.

  • Although there was no clean sheet for RBL today, we’ve only conceded 7 goals this season, which means that Leipzig have the second best defence in the league.

Win streak facts

  •  We’ve extended our crazy unbeaten run against promoted sides! Today’s victory marked the 29th time that we’ve played a newly-promoted side and we’ve not lost against one yet, winning 26 and drawing 3. It was also our 14th victory in a row against a promoted side.

  • Today’s game was the third time we’ve faced off against the Lilies and the third time we’ve won, with a combined scoreline of 9-1. We’ve also come up against Darmstadt in the 2. Bundesliga and the 3.Liga.

  • Our win-streak away from home continues! It was our fourth Bundesliga victory in a row away from home and our fifth overall. We’ve won nine of our last 10 away games in all competitions.
