Two young football fans from the USA were treated to a trip to Germany, which included two special games and a tour of RBL’s facilities. Wren and Christian impressed at this year’s Soccer Camp in New York and claimed the MVP titles over the 200 other participants, which meant they had the opportunity to travel to Leipzig.

Their week with RB Leipzig was jam-packed. They were treated to a tour of the RBL Academy and the Red Bull Arena, before they watched the Leipzig women’s first home game of the season against SGS Essen at Cottaweg. The cherry on top was having tickets for the thrilling Bundesliga game against FC Bayern. Leipzig women’s player Jenny Hipp also took the time to take photos and sign autographs for the kids.

RB Leipzig and the USA: A partnership for now and the future

As a Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig have a certain obligation to make European football more popular internationally in countries like the USA. The region encompassing New York and New Jersey was deliberately selected as the destination for the 2022 and 2023 summer camps with the 2026 World Cup in mind. RB Leipzig are also interested in tapping into the US due to players like American captain Tyler Adams, who came through New York Red Bulls’ youth system and was an RBL player from 2019 to 2022. The USA will host the 2026 World Cup alongside Mexico and Canada.
