Before RBL meet Real Madrid in the second leg of the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday (9 pm) , we witnessed the final training session at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu and the press conference with Marco Rose and Dani Olmo .

… THE TASK AHEAD

“We have to believe that we can win. We have to believe this when we go to bed tonight and get up again tomorrow morning.
We showed in the first leg that we can compete with Real Madrid, we had good chances and, apart from two or three counterattacks, we didn’t give up much in the end.
Of course, we are facing a world class team. We need an exceptionally good performance and perhaps a little luck, if we want to win.
We have to do everything at the top level. That’s only possible if we play with maximum conviction.”

… THE PLAN AGAINST REAL

“We have the opportunity to cause problems for Real Madrid. Because, We have fast and physically strong strikers. We have excellent footballers behind them like Dani Olmo and Xavi . And at the back we have robust defenders like Willi Orban .
But, just defending won’t achieve the goal in Madrid. We will also have to be strong in attack. How we do this is up to us. Real Madrid will want to put pressure on us at home and in front of their own fans.
It will be important that we play our game against Real and not just defend.We won’t change our playing style much for the game. However, it is also clear to us that there will be phases in which we have to defend very deeply.”
