Lois Openda played a decisive role in the 4-1 win in Freiburg. With four direct goal-involvements in a single game, our No.17 achieved something that only two RBL predecessors have achieved.

Only Christopher Nkunku and Timo Werner had a hand in four goals in one game before Openda. Christo also managed two goals and two assists in the 6-0 win over Hertha Berlin on 25 September 2021. Timo managed six in one game in the 8-0 home win against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on 2 November 2019 (3 goals and 3 assists).

With Bundesliga goals 20 and 21, Openda is already one of Leipzig’s top scorers in a Bundesliga season. In the remaining six league games, the Belgian top scorer has his sights set on further records.
