Marco Rose
- “We kept a clean sheet and scored three goals, so I’m very pleased. I thought we were lacking a bit of intensity in one or two situations in the first half, but we did better in the second half in this regard.
We need to keep working on our set-pieces, but I’m pleased that two of our new signings got on the scoresheet in Lois Openda and Benjamin Sesko. It was a solid friendly performance, but we also know to keep in mind that this was just a friendly.
We’ve got our first competitive game of the new season against FC Bayern on Saturday. We’re going to work hard until then so that we can be at 100 percent for the Supercup.”
David Raum
- “It was lovely to play in the Red Bull Arena once again. The fans created a great atmosphere, it was a pleasant day to play football, and we put in a good performance. I’m particularly pleased that we barely allowed our opponents any chances and managed to get the shutout.
We’ve got a really cool, young group now, especially thanks to our new signings. We’re all connected by football and the training camp has helped us to become a tight unit. We all get on well on and off the pitch, which has helped our link-up play to improve.”
Benjamin Sesko
- “For a striker, the feeling of scoring a goal is always something special. I’m so happy to have been able to help out the team today through a special goal. I’m feeling good and am looking forward to the first games of the season.
We’ve got a lot of quality in our side, but our combination play on the pitch isn’t quite perfect yet, which is completely normal for a team that’s signed lots of new players. However, we’re motivated and really looking forward to the matches against Bayern München and Leverkusen. Bayern are really tough opposition, but we believe in ourselves and really want to win the Supercup.”
