Christoph Baumgartner on …
… his first few days at RBL
- “They were an exciting first few days. There was a lot going on with performance tests, photo shoots and other appointments. Today was finally the first training session. It was really enjoyable to get on the pitch with the boys. Now, I am looking forward to more.”
… his expectations
- “The way that RBL and that I play should fit together very well. I am looking forward to this new challenge. I now wanted to take the next step and found exactly the right challenge in Leipzig. There is a lot of competition for places, but if I show what I can do then I will also get playing time here.”
… his position
- “My favourite position is as a ten, just behind the strikers, but I have also recently played more and more as a second striker. I can play in a number of positions upfront and will play where I can help the team the best.”
Christoph Baumgartner on…
… a phone call with Austria national team coach Ralf Rangnick
- “We phoned each other. He welcomed this move. With Xaver Schlager, Nicolas Seiwald and I, we now have three Austrians in the team. This connection between Austrian players and RBL has already worked very well in the past. Ralf was very impressed when I told him about RBL and me. He thought that it would be a good fit and a really great opportunity for me. He just confirmed that to me with what he said.”
… Marco Rose
- “He is an exceptional person. He has an extremely respectful approach, regardless of if you’re a player in his team, or like me up until now, play for the opposition. He is a coach who demands a lot from everyone and who sees work ethic as really important– and I’m looking forward to that. He has already experienced a lot in his coaching career and is a proven head coach.
I am looking forward to playing under him and am certain that he will help me to take further steps in my development.”
