300 games for RB Leipzig: Willi Orban reaches landmark!

MARCO ROSE ON…

… THE HOME GAME AGAINST DARMSTADT 98

  • “We want to take the energy from the game at Real Madrid onto the pitch tomorrow. We need an energetic performance to get the win against Darmstadt.

This is a team that is fighting hard to stay in the league. They press high, man mark, and play in a very compact manner. So we will also need patience.

We will prepare the boys well and then it’s about giving everything on the pitch again in this intense week. We want to show that there is little to gain from us tomorrow. And then we want to finish the week with a good feeling.”

… THE DAYS AFTER THE BITTER CL EXIT IN MADRID

  • “I’ve already said that I’m proud of my boys’ performance. Despite the disappointment, that’s clear. But two nights later, Darmstadt was on my mind because that’s our next task.

We want to experience evenings like the one against Real again and to qualify again. For that we now need results in the Bundesliga.”

MARCO ROSE ON…

… POSSIBLE CHANGES IN THE STARTING LINE-UP

  • “We didn’t suffer any major injuries on Wednesday and there were no minor ones either. Mohamed Simakan is an option again. I’ll talk to the boys later about how they’re feeling and how much energy they still have.

We need energetic players tomorrow. We’re trying to find a mix between freshness and the guys who did very well in Madrid.”

… LUKAS KLOSTERMANN

  • “Klosti” is definitely making progress. But it was clear from the start that we probably wanted to use the international break to integrate him. We’ll see if he is ready by then.

He was already on the pitch and already had the ball at his feet. So his recovery is on time.”

… THE ROLE OF EL CHADAILLE BITSHIABU

  • “We knew we were bringing in a top talent in Chad last summer. We noticed during preparation that he had to work on a few things physically and tactically. We managed that very well. Then he had a small injury setback.

Of course, a young player like that has to play more at some point. But at the moment I would trust him to be able to play as a defender in the Bundesliga for us.

But we are RB Leipzig and have a top squad. Competition is important for us. Every player has to stick with it, show up and prove themselves. You have to accept such phases in your career, overcome them and draw energy from them. That’s always part of it.”
