“We are consistently pursuing our course of adapting TSG’s structures to a modern organisation,” says managing director Prof. Dr Jan Mayer, who is responsible for corporate development and heads the GmbH together with Denni Strich and Alexander Rosen.

“We have clear aspirations, both in sporting and business terms. These include not only the traditional departments, but also our socio-political responsibility across all levels, which we see as the core of our brand,” explains Mayer. “It’s about further development as an organisation and for each individual who supports this company. We are convinced that these framework conditions are fundamental to being able to tackle our core business of football in an even more focussed and successful way.”

Jens Lehmann has been working for TSG Hoffenheim for many years. Hardly anyone knows the figures of the GmbH and the club as well as the 57-year-old business graduate, who has been working as a tax consultant and auditor for more than a quarter of a century. In this role, the financial expert, who lives in Heddesheim, has been scrutinising the club’s balance sheets for more than 20 years. He has also played a key role in the annual licensing process in recent years. Visitors to TSG’s general meetings are familiar with Lehmann not only in his role as auditor, but above all because he knows how to present the club’s key figures in an entertaining and pointed manner.

Arno Metz has also been very familiar with TSG Hoffenheim for many years. Before moving to the Kraichgau, the father of two worked for three years as a lawyer in the Karlsruhe law firm of Dr Markus Schütz, who has advised TSG for many years. Metz, who was born in Mannheim and also completed his law studies there, will support the management and in particular deal with issues relating to sports, labour and corporate law. His expertise, which also includes the young field of e-sports law, will be available to all specialist departments. The former ice hockey player will also coordinate the licensing process together with Finance Director Lehmann and act as an interface to his previous employer, the law firm Schütz, whose extensive expertise TSG will continue to draw on in GmbH and at the club.

Carl Monteiro joined TSG Hoffenheim in 2022, where he has been in charge of sponsorship, sales, hospitality and events ever since. During this time, the business economist and sports economist has already made a significant contribution to the club’s development. He will now contribute his experience and broad expertise to the management of the company. Among other things, Monteiro worked for the world football association FIFA at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, before sharing responsibility for media rights, sales (sponsorship, hospitality, merchandising, licences) and digital marketing during his time at the German Football Association. During his time at various agencies, the Frankfurt-born manager also acquired expertise in human resources and management consultancy.

Rafael Hoffner has been working for TSG Hoffenheim since 2009. Born in Sinsheim, the banking and IT specialist was instrumental in setting up the infrastructure at all of the club’s locations. After successfully implementing the IT projects, he increasingly took care of the sports innovations (including Footbonaut, Helix), for which the Bundesliga football club from Kraichgau is highly regarded both nationally and internationally. In July of this year, the father of two, who himself played for TSV Steinsfurt and SV Reihen for twenty years, was promoted from Head of IT to Director of Organisation. In addition to IT, his area of responsibility also includes ticketing, stadium and facility management, security, fan support and administration.
